The Board of Supervisors meet today beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center, 851 East William Street. Go here for the agenda and here to watch the meeting live.
Items up for discussion and possible action include:
— Decision to extend agreement between Washoe Tribe and Carson City Sheriff's Office regarding enforcement of controlled substance sales, manufacturing and other crimes associated with drugs on tribal land.
— Discuss and vote on a mutual aid agreement with the public works departments of Carson City, Douglas, Lyon and Storey counties. The agreement would provide each other support and technical assistance in emergencies.
— Decide whether to accept a $28,256 grant from the State of Nevada Division of Public and Behavior Health to provide education to sexually experienced adolescents, ages 13 to 18, on both abstinence and contraception.
— Hear a proposal from the Northern Nevada Development Authority which is seeking a $100,000 commitment from Carson City for its Retention Expansion Economic Development Plan.
Several items and a presentation of the Moss Adams Report to track fraud, waste and Abuse. Supervisors will review and make possible direction recommendations to staff regarding the audit report. The Board also consider whether to contract with the firm to conduct an employee efficiency study.
