An approaching low pressure system has the potential to produce thunderstorms Monday through Wednesday with gusty outflow winds, small hail and isolated dry lightning strikes possible, according to the National Weather Service.
The storms will move in from the Sierra by early Monday afternoon and then shift east of Reno and Carson City by late afternoon. Breezy west winds will develop across western Nevada by Monday afternoon.
Storms are again possible Tuesday and Wednesday with the best chances on Tuesday remaining north and east of a line from Susanville to Fallon. Wednesday the best potential for storms will shift mainly south of Susanville to Lovelock. Go here for the latest area forecast discussion.
