Here is the Carson City area road report, provided by the city's public works department, for the week of May 5-11, 2014.
The center lanes only of South Carson Street Highway 395 between Koontz Lane and Clearview Drive will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. on the nights of Tuesday, May 6 and Wednesday, May 7.
One lane of northbound N. Carson Street and one lane of westbound Winnie Lane will be closed at the intersection of those roads on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The roads will remain open to traffic.
There will be lane closures with flagger-controlled traffic on weekdays on Northgate Lane between the freeway overpass and Jumbo Court.
There will be street shoulder work on weekdays at the following locations:
— The east side of N. Carson Street north of Monk Court.
— The north side of Rand Street between Long Street and William Street.
For those traveling to Lake Tahoe, State Route 207 over Kingsbury Grade is closed until May 23 for road construction. Motorists looking to get into the Lake Tahoe Basin from western Nevada should take Highway 50 over Spooner Summit.

State Route 49, El Dorado and Placer County, from State Route 193 in Cool to the Bear River Bridge: Motorists can expect intermittent one-way traffic controls from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.
State Route 49, Nevada County, from the Placer County line to Pekolee Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to replace pavement markers.
State Route 49, Nevada County, from Clivus Drive to Ladybird Drive: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls at various locations from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to install k-rail.
State Route 49, Placer County, from Elm Avenue to Lincoln Way in Auburn: Motorists can expect the north and southbound No. 2 lanes closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do utility work.
State Route 49, Yuba and Sierra counties, from Marysville Road to Convict Flat Picnic: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls at various locations from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to clean ditches.
Interstate 80, Nevada County, from the Truckee River Bridge to Hinton Road: Motorist can expect east and westbound No. 2 lane closures from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do sign work.
Interstate 80, Placer County, from Baxter to the chain on area: Eastbound motorists can expect the No. 3 lane closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do tree work.
Interstate 80, Placer County, from Emigrant Gap to Jeo Laing Road: Eastbound motorists can expect the No. 1 lane closed from midnight Monday through 11:59 Saturday. A contractor is scheduled to do shoulder work.
State Route 89, Placer County, from the Truckee River Bridge to Cabin Creek Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do ditch work.
State Route 89, Placer and Nevada counties, from West River Street to Deerfield Drive: Motorists can expect the north and southbound No. 1 lanes closed from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do utility work.
