For the second year, the Carson City Chamber will be putting on their successful Home and Garden Show at the Carson Mall giving area and regional residents a chance to know local businesses and learn what’s new in home and gardening.
Twenty-five vendors are set to display their goods and services with Costco, Home Depot and Greenhouse Garden Center taking the center stage as they create vignettes to show what can be done to improve home and garden. The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The focal point will be the staging of an outdoor garden scene created by David Ruf of the Greenhouse Garden Center. Prominently displayed in the mall center, the garden scene is a show-stopper and creates the theme of the show.
Home Depot – Douglas County store – will conduct clinics for women and children throughout the day. Greenhouse Garden Center will conduct informative gardening clinics as well.
New to the show this year is the addition of an art component. Professional artists from the Nevada Artist Association will be on hand to conduct live painting demonstrations and display their art. The Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada welcomes children to stop by and learn how to paint ladybug rocks and other potential Mother’s Day gift items.
Various local beauty queens will be on hand as well.
The show opens with a ribbon cutting by Mayor Robert Crowell at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 20th and will end at 6 p.m. This year, the garden portion of the show has been extended to Sunday with gardening seminars coordinated by Greenhouse Garden Center.
Admission and parking is free.
