Grab a rake, a broom, a pair of work gloves and be prepared to apply some elbow grease, Carson City's annual spring cleanup week begins April 15.

Whether you're looking to haul junk from the basement to the landfill, are a senior and need help getting rid of debris, or maybe you need to get rid of old cans of paint, Carson City has several programs available.

Here's a list provided by the city of what's available:

Senior Junk Haul
For the 10th consecutive year, 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, the world’s largest junk removal service, is pleased to offer up to three bookings of junk removal per day, to elderly or disabled Carson City residents at no cost during Carson Spring Clean Up, April 15-18, 2013. The program has limited availability due to volume and other restrictions. This program fills up fast, and not all callers can be serviced at no cost.

1-800-GOT-JUNK? continues to offer senior discounts all year long for their regular junk & debris removal service to anyone not able to take advantage of this program. Call (775) 887-8898 to schedule an appointment for
a pick-up time by their friendly, uniformed crews. Appointments can ONLY be scheduled by calling this number, and following the recorded instructions carefully.
