
Organizers of the the Vietnam Veterans Day ceremony slated for Mills Park today announced the ceremony has moved to the Carson Nugget ballroom beginning at 5:30 p.m. A reception will follow beginning at 6 p.m.
Rick Arnold, President of the Carson City Area Chapter 388 of the Vietnam Veterans of America announced the event was changed due to weather conditions.
The Chapter, a Commemorative Partner in The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration, is holding the event to focus attention on the 50th anniversary of the War.
The ceremony is open to the public and will pay tribute to those who honorably served during the War and returned home while remembering and saluting the sacrifice of men and women who also served, but didn’t return.
The ceremony will be followed by a “no-host bar” reception held 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
