The watchful eyes of Dayton citizens who reported two men breaking into a Ring Road residence on March 13 led Lyon County Sheriff's Office deputies to them and their subsequent arrest.
Tyler Wutch 20, and Michael Mays, 19, both of Dayton are each being held on $25,000 bail facing felony burglary charges, said Sgt. Ryan Powell of the Lyon County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies arrived and both Wutch and Mays ran away and hid in a nearby field for several hours. The subsequent burglary investigation showed property was missing from the residence which included multiple firearms.
With the assistance from numerous Dayton citizens, the suspects were identified and captured when they emerged from their hiding spot, said Sgt. Powell. The firearms that were stolen from the residence were recovered. And both men were taken into custody without incident.
