Nevada's casinos saw gaming profits increase by 9.6 percent statewide in December, though figures in the Carson City region were down 1.85 percent.
Carson City area casinos, which include gaming establishments in Gardnerville, Minden and all area of Douglas County except Tahoe, took in $7,716,979 for December 2013 compared to $7,862,056 for the same month in 2012.
Overall the "gaming win" for Nevada casinos as compared to December 2012 figures was impressive. Gaming tables and slots took in $1,034,023,873.
North Las Vegas had the best month, seeing a 24.38 percent increase. South Shore Lake Tahoe saw the sharpest decline, down 24.68 percent. North Lake Tahoe casinos saw a 16.85 percent spike in gaming profits for December, the only casinos in Washoe County to see an increase.
