UPDATE 10:38AM: A 48-year-old Dayton woman was arrested and faces a felony charge of leaving the scene of a hit and run causing death following the Sunday night fatality of a woman on Highway 50 in Carson City.
Cynthia Ann Munroe is free on $10,000 bail following the incident in which she is the suspected driver in the pedestrian hit and run, authorities said. She was driving a black 1999 Ford Explorer, authorities said. The fatal was reported shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday night. The name of the woman killed has not been released.

UPDATE: A woman pedestrian was killed Sunday night on Highway 50 and the driver who allegedly hit her is in custody, Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong confirms.
The woman died at around 11 p.m. after being hit by a black SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer, with a female reportedly the driver. The suspect vehicle was seen driving toward Lyon County. Sheriff's deputies in Lyon County found the vehicle and a woman inside and she was taken into custody, Furlong said.
The vehicle reportedly has extensive front end damage. The fatality happened as the woman was crossing the street near the Goodwill in the 3600 block of Highway 50, witnesses said.
Traffic was shut down shut down in both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Highway 50 at Airport Road. The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating as well as the Carson City Sheriff's Office. A coroner was called to the crime scene.

A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday night in the area of Highway 50 near the Goodwill in Carson City. The accident happened in the eastbound lane. The condition of the pedestrian is unknown at this time, however a Care Flight air ambulance was canceled and a coroner has been notified, according to scanner traffic.
The driver of the vehicle was reported to have left the scene. The vehicle was reported to be a black Ford Explorer, with California plates and had massive damage to the front end. The driver, believed to be a female, was traveling eastbound toward Lyon County, authorities said.
Traffic has been shut down both eastbound and westbound near the former Katie's Bar in the 3400 block of Highway 50.
