Orwellian NEW-Speak: Budget Cut Language Engineering
It was amusing to read the Carson Now story on a protest for all those poor local victims of sequestration. Does anyone actually believe that Congressional sequestration results in budget cuts? The federal spending under sequestration goes up every year without congress even passing a budget. If the automatic baseline budget grows less than is required by law then Washington, our media, and the New-speak columnists misinform the people of our nation that there has been a cut when, in fact, spending is still increasing. There are no cuts which is why spending goes up each year. Congress and the President are arguing about reducing the automatic growth rate by a minuscule one half of one percent. The media, the President and many in the Congress think we are all too stupid to look at the budget and do the arithmetic or to look in the dictionary to discover the standard meaning of a 'cut'.
This president has now spent more money than all the previous Presidents combined, yet he intends to continue this fiscal insanity until America is as sound as Greece or Turkey. Our President predicts dire consequences of any reductions in spending and proposes to raise taxes. However, if raising taxes would balance the budget they why hasn't this ever worked in the last forty years? With sixteen trillion in national debt projected to exceed twenty trillion and not including the two hundred trillion in unfunded mandates as future spending, every American is now obligated to pay over one million dollars in taxes plus all the interest required to carry that debt. What many Americans have not been told is that the 'stimulus' bail out money of almost a trillion dollars was parceled out to federal agencies and became part of the permanent base line budget which is increased every single year after that. The stimulus was a permanent twenty five percent growth in the size of government that is then automatically increased three percent every year. The Obama, Reid and Pelosi National Socialist Democrats didn't just spend a trillion dollars to stimulate the economy, they spent an extra trillion every year forever which is why we have trillion dollar deficits every year that will continue to grow until our nation is as bankrupt as Zimbabwe. Everyone in Zimbabwe is now a trillionaire but a Zimbabwe trillion dollar note will likely only buy a single loaf of bread.
The last fiscally sane year was 2006 which had a two hundred billion dollar deficit. We need Congress to reset the baseline to 2006 then freeze spending until they budget is balanced. Now that would be an actual 'cut' in the budget and a very good beginning. We should follow that with a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution so that this fiscal insanity never happens again. We should then pay down our debt through the sale of all federal lands and return them to the states to increase their tax base. Federal property that is used for national defense could be exempt. Returning federal lands to the states would allow us to also return the responsibilities and expense to manage those lands and would allow us to abolish the EPA, BLM and Department of the Interior along with hundreds of parasitic smaller agencies.
If President Obama wishes to balance the federal budget, I suggest that he cancel the order for over 1.6 billion bullets purchased by the DHS to 'protect Americans' since Obama took office. This is enough fire power for our new federal police force to kill every American five times over or to wage thirty years of warfare in Afghanistan and Iraq. Indeed even the Presidents media stenographers are beginning to question who the DHS intends to kill. The President could also cancel the domestic drones and armored personnel carriers that are beginning to roll on the streets of America's cities by order of our DHS.

It is indeed time for the adults of America to have a conversation about our out-of-control federal government without parsing all the New-speak Orwellian language engineering - while we still can. Our national socialist democrats are indeed waging a war and I suspect that America is their real enemy. As Orwell wrote in '1984'; "Power is not the means, it is the end." If Orwell was right Obama and his National Socialists may mean the end of America as a free country.
