While statewide gaming profits were down by 4.8 percent in June, Carson City area casinos saw a 2 percent increase over 2012 figures, the Nevada Gaming Control Board reports Friday morning.
Carson City casinos, which include Garderville, Minden and Topaz, took in a gaming "win" of $8,396,690 for a 2.03 percent increase compared to June 2012. Carson City area casinos are down in gaming profits by 1.56 percent for the fiscal year.
Statewide, Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $792,496,546 for June. This amounts to a 4.81 percent decrease compared to June 2012, when licensees
reported a gaming win of $832,534,319. For the fiscal year, July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013,
gaming win has increased 1.81 percent.
Elsewhere, South Lake Tahoe area casinos took a significant hit in June, with gaming profits down 24.36 percent. Casinos in Stateline report taking in $12,521,952 for June compared to $16,555,235 in June 2012.
North Lake Tahoe casinos took saw a 3.55 percent increase in gaming profits for the month.
