Discover the wonders of star and planet gazing. Astronomy experts Jay Lawson and Adam Kremers will set up their high-powered telescopes to view the Venus, the Milky Way galaxy, Saturn and its rings and moons as well as many other fascinating objects in the night sky.
WHAT: Stargazing at Washoe Lake State Park
WHEN: Saturday, August 10, from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
WHERE: Participants will meet at the overflow boat parking area which is next to the group reservation area. Washoe Lake State Park is 18 miles south of Reno and five miles north of Carson City. Travel on U.S. 395 and take the Eastlake Boulevard (Exit 44); the park entrance is on the left.
COST: There is no charge for the program, but there is a $7 per-vehicle entry fee; Nevada residents receive a $2 discount.
