Carson City authorities have detained a man who allegedly cooked up a story to police dispatch that he had been kidnapped in Reno and forced to drive to Carson City.
The suspect told Carson City police dispatch Friday at around 3:15 p.m., that a man forced himself into his vehicle around Victorian Square in Reno and that he was forced to drive from Reno to Virginia City and Carson City. He initially told investigators that he dropped the man off near the exit of College Parkway and the Carson City Freeway.
Carson City sheriff's deputies and detectives interviewed the man, who confessed that he had made the story up about a medium build man, around 5'7 in height, wearing latex gloves and a mask. The man told authorities he did not see a weapon but felt something like it pushed into his side.
The man will likely face criminal charges of making a false report.
