Two men were arrested early Friday morning in the 1800 block of Long Street in Carson City and face multiple charges, including battery on police officers and resisting arrest. A 20-year-old Carson City man later told officers both had been under the influence of LSD and marijuana.

According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the area of 1800 East Long Street late Thursday night after reports came in of a man screaming and stating he had a bloody nose.

Arriving on scene with deputies, the arresting officer discovered the man screaming on a second-level apartment. Officers made contact with two men, the 20-year-old Carson City man and a 21-year-old Pixley, Calif., man. Officers were let into the apartment, the report states.

The Carson City man screamed at officers "F***ing marijuana! LSD! Check me out on Facebook!" according to the arrest report. He was arrested for disorderly conduct and handcuffed with his hands behind his back because he had resisted, the report states.

In plain view on the kitchen counter of the apartment, officers saw a glass jar filled with marijuana, later determined to be seven grams, a metallic grinder used to grind marijuana and a digital scale, according to the arrest report.

The 20-year-old Carson City man tried to slip his handcuffs to the front of his body and tried to get to his feet to run and escape, according to the arrest report. The officer flipped him on his stomach to keep him from escaping. The man, refusing to be restrained, attempted to kick the officer in the left knee as he was putting leg restraints on the man's ankles.

While officers were handling the Carson City man, the 21-year-old Pixley, Calif., man came out of the apartment and refused to obey orders that he return back inside the apartment.

The orders were given three times by a female deputy, the arrest report states. The man fought with her, punching her in the face. He then continued to fight violently and resisted three other Carson City deputies when they came to aid the deputy who was punched in the face. The man was tasered and placed into double handcuffs. The injured deputy went to the hospital and was treated for an injury to her leg.

A search of the 21-year-old man found a yellow metallic smoking pipe in his left front pocket that smelled strongly of marijuana.

With the two men suspected of being under the influence of drugs and because of their violent behavior, they were taken to Carson Tahoe Hospital for evaluation and treated for their injuries which they sustained from resisting arrest, the report states. They were booked into jail.

The Carson City man later admitted to officers, after being Mirandized, that the suspected marijuana found in the glass jar and grinder belonged to him and that he and the 21-year-old man were smoking marijuana and doing LSD prior to deputies arriving on scene.

The 20-year-old man, whose listed occupation was college student government, faces the following charges: Gross misdemeanor escape of a prisoner; possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest with violence, disorderly conduct, and possession of less and 1 ounce of marijuana, all misdemeanors. Bail: $5,753.

The 21-year-old Pixley Calif., man faces a gross misdemeanor charge of battery on a peace officer, and misdemeanor charges of obstructing, four misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest with violence, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $7,839.

In other arrests:

— A 51-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday, June 13, 4:31 p.m. in the 3000 block of Market Street and faces a misdemeanor charge of embezzlement.
According to the arrest report, store officials from Home Depot called authorities regarding embezzlement. On arrival, officers spoke with the loss prevention investigator who stated that he reviewed cash shortages at the store, and from the register of the woman, who is a head cashier. She is the one believed to be the source of the missing money, the store investigator told authorities

After reviewing video, he saw the woman conduct a "cash strip void" which is a process conducted on the register where it opens the cash drawer. She would count a few bills and pull a bill or bills from the tray with her right hand. She then is seen cupping the money and placing it in her apron. On March 27, she reached under the tray where she brought her hand away and drops her hand into the apron, the arrest report states.

On June 13 loss prevention conducted an interview with the woman who stated that she was fully aware of the process related to running a register including conducting "strip voids." Initially she gave explanations that were not consistent with procedures she said she knew, the report states. Later she said she took the money to her car and continued to admit to taking at least $280, according to the arrest report.

The woman provided a statement to loss prevention on her own free will. Her statement reads as follows:

"With full regret of the shortage situation in the cash drawers, I am guilty of taking advice and instruction from an ex-employee on cash handling. As pretty much everyone in the store knows the vehicle I drive is not reliable. I have had to put more time and prayers in hoping it gets from point A to point B. Me being a reliable person, don't call in even when I am sick. I refuse to miss work, when I need help I have asked, but I didn't get the help I needed. My actions were wrong but I assure you will NEVER happen again. I am begging to be placed in a sales position where I can benefit the company. I want any and all to know how heart felt sorry I am. I am a good person that followed a path of a bad person, this is not me."

The woman was taken to jail and officers were given a copy of the video surveillance, which was booked into evidence. Bail: $1,137.
