A 58-year-old Sparks man was arrested in the area of Robinson and Saliman Friday night for DUI first, failure to maintain a lane, and driving without a valid license.
The man was arrested after deputies were dispatched to the area on report of a possible DUI driver who was traveling west on William Street.
Deputies located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop for failure to maintain a lane. Deputies made contact with the man, who appeared confused and disoriented and could not provide his driver’s license to deputies.
Deputies asked the man to step out of the vehicle. The man needed to use the car for balance as he was unsteady on his feet, the report states. Deputies noticed a strong odor of alcohol emitting form his breath, and his speech was slurred as he spoke.
The man stated he did not want to take a field sobriety test, but agreed to provide a preliminary breath sample, which resulted in a 0.288 BAC. Bail: $1,277.
— A 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 3200 block of Market Street on a warrant for violating his suspended sentence, as well as obstructing a public officer.
According to the report, deputies were dispatched to a local big-box department store on reports of an unwanted subject. Deputies met with security officers who told them the man was harassing customers inside of the store and the employees wanted him trespassed.
At first, the man gave a false name to deputies, using the correct last name but a different first name. Dispatch advised that name was clear of all warrants, but that a man with a different first name matching his description had a warrant. Dispatch advised the man on the warrant had a tattoo on his chest of a name. Deputies asked to see the man's chest, on which was the tattoo dispatch had described.
The warrant was issued out of Carson City Justice Court on March 28.
Deputies arrested the man on the warrant as well as for obstructing a public officer for giving a false name. Bail: $3,412; $3,000 cash only.
Warrants:
— A 34-year-old Gardnerville man was transported to the Carson City Jail from Douglas County on an outstanding warrant for contempt of court, issued Jan. 3. Bail: $500 cash only.
— A 32-year-old transient man was transported from Churchill County on a Carson City Justice Court warrant issued May 3 for violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $1,000 cash only.
— A 50-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the area of Lompa Lane and US Highway 50 Friday morning on a contempt of court warrant issued out of Carson City Justice Court June 4.
Deputies arrested the man after they recognized him walking east on Highway 50, and dispatch advised he had an active warrant. Bail: $125 cash only.
