UPDATE: At least one person suffered serious injury after a vehicle crashed into a vacant building at 3911 South Carson Street in Carson City. A Care Flight air ambulance was ordered to the scene of the accident, reported after 11 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The injured person was extricated from the vehicle. The Care Flight landed in the parking lot area of the building where there are several tenants. The victim was transported to Renown Medical Center in Reno. A second occupant of the vehicle was able to get out safely.
According to Carson City Fire Chief Stacey Giomi, the vehicle hit the vacant part of a larger building where there are multiple businesses. The collision caused damage and a water leak. Building inspectors are on the scene to determine if the structure is safe, Giomi said.
