UPDATE 5:45PM: Carson City fire and ambulance personnel responded to an accident Wednesday afternoon where a 14-year-old boy was hit by a vehicle. His injuries appear to be non-life threatening, according to the Carson City Sheriff's Office.
The accident happened at around 1:30 p.m. at the roundabout located at 5th and Fairview, said Carson City Fire Chief Stacey Giomi. Care Flight transported the teen to Renown Medical Center in Reno.
The Care Flight helicopter landed at Carson City Airport. The Carson City Sheriff's Office reports the boy was let out of Eagle Valley Middle School early and was crossing the street with two others when he was stuck by a Chevy truck while crossing the street.
The boy had some internal injuries and cuts to his body, KRNV reports.
He was conscious when the ambulance and emergency crews arrived and gave paramedics on the scene his mother's telephone number. She was contacted by Carson City dispatch and went to the hospital, a deputy said. While the investigation continues, the driver of the truck has not been cited.
