The Carson City Library will present Explore New Zealand at Your Library on Thursday, May 9th, at 6:00 p.m. in the library auditorium.
Library staff member Una Gauper recently visited the island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. Her journey spanned months of travel and adventure. Her large network of extended family provided expert travel guidance as she experienced the culture and explored the landscape.
Una earned a Bachelor of Science degree from University of California, Davis, in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Along with New Zealand her interests are varied from science and technology to lyengar yoga and The Walking Dead. She currently works at the Carson City Library as the @Two Digital Learning Center Technician and leads book discussions for Bookmasters, the Carson City Library book club.
Explore the World @ Your Library is a bimonthly program and hosts a series of presentations by people from other countries or by those who have traveled to far-away places. Previous countries that have been explored through this popular series include Hong Kong, Nicaragua, England, Israel, Bolivia, Columbia, Vietnam, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Taiwan, the Azores, Portugal, Ecuador, Ethiopia, India, Afghanistan, Ireland, Tunisia, South Africa, New Zealand, Italy, Russia, China, Latvia, Guatemala, Serbia, Mexico, and Chile.
