Strings in Schools concert to feature music of Jay Ungar and Molly Mason

Carson City Symphony's Strings in the Schools led by Carson City Symphony Education Director Sue Jesch present a festival featuring the Music of Jay Ungar and Molly Mason on Saturday, May 11.

The concert will be at Empire Elementary School, 1260 Monte Rosa Drive, Carson City. It includes a workshop from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for string players of all ages, a potluck lunch, and a public concert beginning at 3:00 p.m. Admission to the festival and the concert is free, donations welcome.

Jay Ungar and Molly Mason have become one of the most celebrated duos in the American acoustic music scene. They are widely known for appearances on A Prairie Home Companion and for their Fiddle and Dance Camps at the Ashokan Center in the Catskill Mountains of New York. About the May 11 festival, Jay Ungar said, "This all sounds great. You have Molly and my blessing for the Jay Ungar and Molly Mason Festival. I wish we could be there. We hope you have a wonderful, joyful and inspiring workshop!"
