
Opening Day Ceremonies for Carson Girls Softball started the 2013 season on a nice spring day, Saturday 4/13. In U10 league action at Edmonds Park, the Michael Hohl Motor Company/Shaw Nolan Painting Dirt Divas won over the Family Custom Shower & Bath Crazy Devils by a score of 8 to 1.
During the 5 inning contest with great pitching for both teams, the pitchers for the Dayton Crazy Devils were: Amanda Woitas worked 3 innings, 0 hits, 4 walks, 7 strike outs, 3 runs; and, Ashley Wood worked 2 innings, 2 hits, 3 walks, 5 strike outs and 5 runs. For the Dirt Divas, Shannen vonDuering worked 3 innings, no hits, 2 walks, 9 strike outs, 1 run; and, Abby Golik worked 2 innings, no hits, 2 walks, 5 strike outs, and no runs.
Offensively for the Crazy Devils, Marisa Hein scored their only run. For the Dirt Divas, Kelly McCready and Laura DeGraw each had a single and scored a run. Also scoring runs were Jocelyn Foster, Bryar Fancher, Ashlyn Parnham (2), and Madalyn Nolan (2).
