Low humidity and gusty winds blowing into the region have prompted a A Red Flag Warning through 11 p.m. Wednesday for much of Western Nevada and the Eastern Sierra, according to the National Weather Service.
Winds will be out of the west, 15 to 25 mph with gusts 35 to 40 mph. Wind prone areas may see gusts up to 50 mph.
Humidity will run low, 8 to 15 percent. The combination of gusty winds and low humidity will create critical fire weather conditions, according to the weather service.
