South Lake Tahoe police are asking for the public's help in locating a missing woman. Ruth Anne Scudder, 28, is considered a voluntarily missing adult, last seen two weeks ago.
Scudder has a mild mental handicap in which South Lake Tahoe police consider her to be at risk. Her family told police she left their shared South Lake Tahoe residence two weeks ago, Wednesday, June 4, and has not been seen or heard from since, said South Lake Tahoe Police Detective Jeff Roberson.
Ruth does not drive and, although she has a history of voluntarily leaving home unannounced, she has always returned within a few days. Due to the extended time frame she has now been missing, her family is growing increasingly concerned.
Ruth Scudder is five feet four inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. She has blond hair and green eyes. Her family has attempted all means of communication with Ruth without success. Ruth has no financial resources with her, and her circle of friends is unknown to her family. No crime is suspected at this time, but the police are requesting help from South Lake Tahoe and surrounding communities in locating her.
Please call SLTPD dispatch at 530-542-6100 with any past or current sightings of her.
