The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles offers 21 different plates for veterans and family members. The plates can be viewed on the DMV veteran license plate page.
The campaign was launched to increase participation in the veterans plates and a portion of the purchase funds goes to the Veteran Gift Account. The gift account is used by the NDVS to fund veteran outreach efforts and programs throughout the state, which benefit veterans and family members.
The ad campaign will be seen in print and digital versions through June in Elko, Reno, Las Vegas, Carson City and some rural communities.
"With nearly 300,000 veterans in the state, there are currently only 10 percent who are currently using Nevada veteran plates," says Kat Miller, director of NDVS. "That leaves room for a lot of veterans to take part as these plates can be put on anything a veteran drives or pulls and as these plates help our veteran outreach efforts, its a great way to assist other veterans simply by switching over."
Veterans can view the plate options on the DMV site, but will have to visit a nearby office in order to switch over.
