UPDATE: The fire earlier this morning that destroyed a home in Mound House appears to be out. A fire marshal has been called to investigate. Firefighters are mopping up. More details will be posted as we learn them.

Central Lyon County District firefighters are at the scene this morning of a structure fire in the Calcite Drive area of Mound House. Multiple fire units are on the scene. Firefighters appear to have the upper hand.
According to dispatch winds are whipping the fire. It is unknown at this time if it moved into vegetation or if any other structures are threatened. One person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. According to dispatch via scanner, one person was transported for burn injuries.
Lyon County Sheriff's Office was looking for a vehicle seen fleeing the area right around the time the fire started, which was after 10 a.m. There is a Red Flag Warning in effect today because of the gusty, dry conditions.
