One person has died in a plane crash this afternoon at Dayton Valley Airpark, a Central Lyon County Fire Protection District official said.
The crash happened near Dayton Valley Golf Club. The first call came into Lyon County dispatchers at 2:16 p.m. Responders include Lyon County Sheriff's Office and the fire department. Care Flight was also called.
KRNV MyNews4.com reports an FAA public affairs manager, Ian Gregor, said the aircraft was spotted upside down by a pilot who flew above the crash site and identified the plane as a single-engine BD-4.
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate. KRNV reports two FAA investigators are on their way to the crash site.
