Carson City deputies arrest man on domestic battery charges after fight with family

A 21-year-old man was arrested early Friday morning in the 200 block of South Carson Meadows on suspicion of two counts domestic battery after allegedly punching his mother and brother in the face, a Carson City Sheriff's Office deputy said.

The man, who lives in 29 Palms, Calif., was booked into jail after officers were called to an apartment complex shortly before midnight regarding an intoxicated man causing problems, according to the arrest report.

Arriving officers made contact with the man in the parking lot. He told deputies he was upset because his mother was leaving for three months and was using drugs. He said during the argument his brother got involved and the two of them began wrestling each other.

Officers made contact with the mother and the suspect's brother. The woman stated her son became upset because she was leaving and would not be able to take care of his children for him.

She said that during the argument her son, who was intoxicated, punched her in the face. The suspect's brother also told officers he was punched in the face after he intervened when his mother was struck. Both victims had injuries, according to the arrest report. Bail: $6,264.

In other arrests: A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 4:37 p.m in the 1200 block of Woodside Drive on a misdemeanor warrant issued Feb. 10, 2014 in Carson City Justice Court for violation of pre-trial supervision, failure to provide urine sample after ordered by the court. Bail: $3,000.

— A 31-year-old Carson City man was booked on a failure to appear traffic court warrant, issued Feb. 11, 2014. Bail $175.

— A 42-year-old Carson City woman was arrested May 28, 8:18 p.m. in the 3400 block of Champion Street on a misdemeanor charge of violation of a suspended sentence. According to the arrest report officers arrived at the location in reference to a report of an argument between a man and woman. While responding to the location, dispatch advised officers the woman had a confirmed warrant out of Carson City Justice Court for vioaltion of a suspended sentence. Bail: $3,000.

Those arrested and facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
