Join park rangers for a leisurely spring wildflower walk through Washoe Valley. Discover some of the many beautiful wildflowers in bloom on this two mile, moderate walk starting at the main boat ramp. Phlox, Daisies, Lupine, and many more wildflowers will be highlighted on this walk.
The Spring Wildflower Walk is open to the public and takes places Saturday, May 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Participants will meet at the main boat ramp. Washoe Lake State Park is 18 miles south of Reno and 5 miles north of Carson City. Travel on U.S. 395, take the East Lake Boulevard exit and travel east approximately 3-1/2 miles to the park’s entrance.
There is no charge for this program, but there is a $7 per vehicle entrance fee. Nevada residents receive a $2 discount.

Save the Date for “Discover Nevada State Parks” Day. Plan to celebrate Nevada’s 150th birthday with Nevada State Parks. Celebrating the sesquicentennial on June 14 in conjunction with National Get Outdoors Day, visitors will enjoy free day use admission and free fishing at all of Nevada’s 23 State Parks.
