UPDATE 12:25PM: A single-family home in the 1500 block of Continental Drive had moderate damage after a structure fire Tuesday morning, according to Carson City Fire Chief Stacey Giomi. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
A man was treated for minor burns at the scene after he attempted to extinguish the fire, which was confined to a child's bedroom, said Chief Giomi. He declined to be taken to the hospital.
Firefighters were able to knock down the flames within a few minutes of arriving. There was extensive smoke damage throughout the home. The Red Cross was called to aid the family in getting shelter and clothing, said Giomi. Four people were in the home at the time of the fire, said Giomi.

UPDATE: The fire on Continental Drive was knocked down at 10:28 a.m. and an ambulance was called to the scene.
Carson City firefighters were called to the working structure fire at a residence Tuesday morning in the 1500 block of Continental Drive off of Woodside Drive. The call came into dispatch at 10:16 a.m.
Multiple fire trucks responded. The fire had produced heavy smoke before firefighters arrived. A fire investigator was called to the scene, as was the Red Cross, according to emergency dispatch. The occupants are a family and were able to get out of the home.
