A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Friday after he allegedly interfered with firefighters at the scene of a structure fire in the Indian Hills area.
Blake Lister was arrested and booked into Douglas County Jail on charges of interfering with extinguishing a fire and obstructing officer. He is being held on $1,280 bail, said Sgt. Pat Brooks.
The incident happened during a garage fire that was reported at 12:57 a.m. in the 800 block of Granite Court in the Indian Hills subdivision. East Fork Fire and Paramedic District responded. The source of the fire is unknown at this time and is currently being investigated by fire inspectors of the East Fork Fire and Paramedic District, said Brooks.
During the incident Lister was arrested for interfering with the firefighters, claiming to be a BLM firefighter. After being told to stay away from firefighters working the blaze, Lister ran back into the burning building and locked himself inside.
Douglas County sheriff’s deputies entered the building and told Lister to exit the building. When Lister refused, he was arrested and booked into the Douglas County Jail for interfering with extinguishing a fire and obstructing and resisting a police officer.
