A Carson City man was arrested Thursday on battery and resisting charges after he allegedly kicked an officer who was attempting to place handcuffs on him.
According to the arrest report, Carson City sheriff's deputies were called to a residence in the 500 block of Long Street for a report of an out-of-control juvenile female. The mother of the girl told dispatch that her daughter had hit her in the arm and was destroying things in the house.
Arriving officers learned that the woman's son was also in the residence. The mother said both her son, age not provided, and daughter were in the bedroom. Deputies knocked on the bedroom door, announced their presence and asked to speak with them.
After knocking several times without a response, another deputy went to the outside bedroom window and demanded both of them to come out of the bedroom door, the arrest report states. The suspect told the officer through the door that "we will come to the door when she is (expletive deleted) done," the report states.
A deputy made entry and the man began to resist arrest, swearing and kicking an officer twice in the leg. He was arrested at 1:30 p.m., placed into handcuffs, yelled more swear words and continued to resist from inside the home to the patrol car. The man faces a gross misdemeanor charge of battery of a police officer and misdemeanor obstructing and resisting arrest. Bail: $2,912.
In other arrests: A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday in the 1800 block of Long Street on suspicion of being in violation of a restraining order, a misdemeanor.
According to the arrest report, an officer responded to an Applegate Way address to speak with the victim who said she was getting phone calls most of the day by her husband with whom she had a restraining order placed.
The calls came in with a blocked caller identification. The woman stated she did not answer the phone calls until the last call. She said it was her husband, who yelled at her and called her names. She told the officer that she recognized his voice and then he hung up.
The victim then called Carson City Sheriff's Office to report what happened. Members of the Special Enforcement Team found the man at a Long Street address after his identification information was dispatched. He had been drinking and was taken into custody at 5:15 p.m. without incident. Bail: $1,137.
Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
