A panel of seven Carson City area women met recently with Sheriff Ken Furlong to discuss law enforcement issues facing Carson City.
Among several subjects addressed, Furlong spoke candidly about elder abuse, gun control and mental health issues, crime prevention and working with the Carson City School District in the second installment of a two-part "Women to Women with Carol Paz" panel discussion.
Moderated by Paz, panel members are: Martha Coscarat, co-owner of Villa Basque Deli & Cafe; Elizabeth Andrews-Booth, owner of Liz's Biz; Yaraseth Lugo, Director of the Spanish Family Center; Carol Howell, political activist; JoEtta Brown, Douglas County Planning Commission; PJ DeGross, Founder of Web of Support/Military Wives; Pastor Connie Friend of Capital Christian Fellowship.
