Carson City authorities are looking for a state employee who is missing and may be endangered.
Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong reports William McCune, a resident of an apartment complex on Silver Oak Drive is missing and the circumstances are suspicious.
McCune's vehicle, a 2000 maroon Dodge pickup, is missing and there appears to have been some kind of struggle in the man's apartment. The apartment appeared to be ransacked and blood was found.

Here is a news release from the sheriff:

At approximately 8:36 a.m. the Carson City Sheriff’s Office responded to a “welfare check” at the 700 Block of Silver Oak Drive. The reporting persons at the scene informed Deputies that Mr. William McCune, employed by the state, born September 14, 1950, 5 foot 9 inches tall, bald and blue eyes, had not reported for work and had missed a scheduled work related flight early this morning. Although no one was located at the apartment residence, the initial Deputy on scene requested the assistance of Detectives based on the obvious appearance of a severe struggle inside the apartment.

Detectives have contacted local area hospitals and detention centers and not been able to locate McCune. One of two vehicles registered to Mr. McCune was located nearby, but the second, a 2000 maroon Dodge pickup with tinted windows, Nevada license plate 769XTL, could not be located.

The Sheriff’s Office has secured the area as a crime scene and considers Mr. McCune as a missing and endangered person. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, Investigations Division, at (775) 283-7851, or the Sheriff’s Communications Center at (775) 887-2013.
