A 41-year-old man, arrested earlier this week after allegedly making threats directed at the president and a Carson Tahoe Hospital doctor, faces a gross misdemeanor charge of causing damage to Carson City jail property after he broke a window with a cup.

According to a Carson City Sheriff's Office report, the inmate called a jail deputy to the cell door where food is passed. The jail deputy, on two occasions, asked what the man needed but didn't get a response.

The man then allegedly tossed a roll of toilet paper through the food pass door, the arrest report states. Another deputy placed the toilet paper back through the food pass door and closed it.

Once the deputy returned to the booking counter, the arresting officer could hear and see the inmate throwing his plastic cup at a glass door window. He threw the cup several time before cracking the glass. The on-duty sergeant heard the noise and ran to the booking area and asked what was going on. The deputy explained to the sergeant that the inmate threw his cup at the window and broke the glass.

The inmate was jailed Monday after allegedly making threats, saying he was going kill the president and the unborn child of the doctor who was treating him. The doctor is nine months pregnant, according to the arrest report. His bail amount Monday was $637. The charge was a misdemeanor charge of making threats. His bail amount for Tuesday's jail incident, a gross misdemeanor, is set at $2,500.
