Nevada casino gaming profits fell by nearly 14 percent in February, with Carson City area casinos seeing a 1.8 percent decrease, according to figures released Friday by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
Carson City area casinos, which include gaming establishments in Gardnerville, Minden and all other areas of Douglas County except Lake Tahoe, took in gaming revenue of $7,458,457 in February, compared to $7,598,406 in February 2013.
Stateline casinos at Lake Tahoe saw a 9.51 percent decrease over the same period last year, with $14,741,363 in gaming revenue. At 22 percent, North Lake Tahoe saw the biggest drop in revenue for the month, according to the gaming control board. Reno casino revenue was flat during the period, and Sparks had a drop of 1.59 percent.
Statewide,Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gamingwin” of $926,083,897 for the month of February 2014. This amounts to a 13.71 percent decrease compared to February 2013, when licensees reported a gaming win of $1,073,261,160. For the fiscal year (July 1, 2013 through February 28, 2014), gaming win statewide has increased 0.92 percent.
