Carson City road report for week of March 24-30

Here's the Carson City Public Works road report for the week of March 24-30, 2014. There will be intermittent closures of the outside northbound and southbound lanes on South Carson Street / Highway 395 between Highway 50 and Snyder Avenue related to the current freeway construction project.

Closures will occur on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

There will be shoulder work at the following locations on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.:

— The south side of Washington Street west of W. Sunset Way.
— At the intersection of Stanford Drive and Stanton Drive.

Here's the latest Caltrans report for Sierra and Lake Tahoe Basin roads. This report runs from March 23 through March 29, 2014:

LONG-TERM PROJECTS
Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Brace Road to Magra: Work is set to begin on the $36 million project to increase the vertical clearance for nine structures in south Placer County. The vertical clearance will be increase on six structures by lifting the existing bridge deck and the other three will have the roadway below dug down to a lower level. Construction is expected to begin in late May.

SHORT-TERM PROJECTS

State Route 49 (Placer County) from the Nevada County line to Bell Road: Motorists can expect the southbound #2 lane closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do utility work.

State Route 49 (El Dorado and Placer Counties) from State Route 193 in Cool to the Bear River Bridge: Motorists can expect intermittent one-way traffic controls from 7:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday through Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to miscellaneous maintenance work.

State Route 49 (Yuba and Sutter Counties) from Marysville Road toShangri-La: Motorists can expect intermittent one-way traffic controls from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from the chain on area to Sawmill: Motorists can expect a westbound #2 lane closure from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do drainage work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Gold Run to State Route 193: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane restrictions from 7:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday through Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous work.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from the Truckee River Bridge to Goose Meadows Campground: Motorists can expect intermittent one-way traffic controls from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do crack sealing.

State Route 267 (Placer County) at Soaring Way: Motorists can expect all westbound traffic to be detoured onto Soaring Way from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do crack sealing.
