A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, March 20, on multiple misdemeanor warrant charges including contempt of court and larceny.

According to the arrest report, the sergeant for the Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team was patrolling the area of William and Rand streets at around 10 p.m. when he observed the suspect and knew he had outstanding warrants for his arrest.

SET Sgt. Humphrey contacted the man in the parking lot of a business in the 1600 block of East William, activating his emergency red and blue lights. The suspect began to run several feet while yelling at the officer, who commanded him to stop. The suspect did eventually stop and got down on the ground as instructed, the arrest report states.

He was detained with three confirmed outstanding misdemeanor warrants for his arrest, including contempt of court, issued March 13, 2014; violation of pre-trial conditions issued March 10, 2014 and petit larceny warrant issued out of Carson City Municipal Court on March 5, 2014. Bail: $3,900.

In other arrests:

— A 24-year-old woman was arrested Thursday after being stopped in the 1900 block of East Long Street. The woman had a warrant for her arrest for failure to appear in court on a traffic violation issued March 14, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court.
The woman was stopped at around 3:15 p.m. by a deputy when she was seen driving and talking on a cell phone. The deputy learned of the warrant during the traffic stop. Bail: $215.

— A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 4:44 p.m. in the 600 block of Hot Springs Road. He faces misdemeanor charges of being in violation of bail conditions and being a felon failing to register.
According to the arrest report, officers with the Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team responded to the Hot Springs address in reference to an ongoing investigation into recently stolen vehicles.

When the officer arrived he met with the tenant and Jonathan Baumgardner, who was the suspect in the stolen vehicle case in which Baumgardner admitted to stealing a car and stripping it of its wheels and rims.

The tenant gave officers permission to search the location for stolen property and drugs. Other deputies located stolen vehicle parts from one of the stolen vehicles in question, according to the arrest report.

The SET sergeant spoke with a 29-year-old man who came out of a bathroom of the apartment and learned that he had been living at the location for several weeks.

A background check of the 29-year-old man revealed he was on supervision with the Department of Alternative Sentencing and had a "no contact" clause with the tenant and was not supposed to be at the Hot Springs Road location. Alternative Sentencing requested a hold to be placed on the man for violation of bail conditions. He was taken into custody. Bail: $3,242.

Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
