Carson Middle School's annual Chili and Bingo Night has become a cherished and favorite annual springtime Friday night Carson City family event.
With dozens of prizes up for grabs through bingo and raffle games, as well as a silent auction and the best homemade chili dished up in the state, Carson Middle School PTA organizers are hoping to make this year's March 28 event, the biggest yet.
The Friday night festival will be held in the Carson Middle School cafeteria from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Pre-sale drawing tickets are $1 each if purchased by March 27.
Prizes include one month access to the therapy pool or sauna at Paradise Salon Spa and Wellness, two season passes to Mt. Rose, two dinner and dance cruises aboard the Tahoe Queen or MS Dixie II, Reno Aces and Reno Bighorns tickets, UNR softball and baseball tickets, a $50 gift certificate to Carson Nugget Steakhouse and more. See the flier below.
With the chili contest, which brings out some of the tastiest chili in town, the winner with the best judged chili wins a $50 grand prize and bragging rights for the year. Entries are due March 26. To enter email CarsonMiddleSchoolPTA@gmail.com and ask for the form. Or you can pick one up at Carson Middle School, 1140 King Street, Carson City or call (775) 283-2800.
Everyone is welcome to play 50-cents-a-game Bingo with fantastic prizes available, and to join in the chili competition where eaters will choose the best tasting and the best named chili ($5 to taste, vote and eat a bowl).
The PTA puts on this fast and fun evening once a year to sponsor the Carson Middle School Band program. This year the band is raising money to purchase a set of secure lockers for the band room.
