A Care Flight helicopter was called early Sunday night to transport a man involved in an ATV rollover in the Ash Canyon area west of Carson City.
Rescue crews and a ranger used ATVs to get to the victim, initially reported to be two-thirds of the way up into the foothill canyon area that is known for its rocky, rough trail terrain. The call was dispatched at 4:18 p.m. with a team arriving to aid the victim and bring him to a transport area where Care Flight could safely land.
Details of the man's condition were not immediately available but he was reported to be conscious at the time rescuers arrived.
The area had been experiencing clouds and some rain at the time crews reached the victim. The cause of the accident is unknown.
