Based on a continued increase in Buyer demand and historically low levels of home inventory and interest rates, the median price of Carson City homes is up 14% over January, 2013 home prices. The number of homes sold in January, 2014 is also up 35% from January, 2013; there were 35 single family homes sold in Carson City in January, 2014.
Also of note, distressed home sales in Carson City is substantially down from levels one year ago. In January, 2013, 55% of all homes sold in Carson City were either short sales or bank-owned foreclosures. In January of 2014, this percentage has dropped by over one half to just 20% of all Carson home sales.
The rise in home prices has not only enticed many home owners to list their homes for sale but is also breathing equity back into current home sales that may have been underwater one year ago.
