A Carson City man was arrested Friday on suspicion of felony child abuse. Terry Ray Kilfian was arrested in the 2200 block of Roop Street at 12:19 p.m.
According to the arrest report, Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies met with the 12-year-old victim who claimed his father punched him in the face, then kicked him on the side in his ribs. The child had visible injuries to his neck, face and ribcage, according to the arrest report.
Kilfian was arrested and booked into Carson City Jail facing charges of felony child abuse and misdemeanor domestic battery. Bail amount according to the report was set at $23,274. He has since been released on bail.
In other arrests: A 43-year-old Carson City man, Nestor Villeda, was arrested Feb. 8, 5:28 a.m. in the 700 block of Silver Oak Drive on suspicion of felony domestic battery with substantial bodily harm.
According to the arrest report, sheriff's deputies met with the victim at the emergency room of Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. The victim said Nestor had been drinking and they began to argue, with him hitting her in the head with his arms and watch, causing her head to bleed. The victim received four staples in her head, the arrest report states.
Officers went to the Silver Oak address and located Villeda, who said he did not remember hitting his wife, the arrest report states. Bail: $15,000.
— A 42-year-old Silver Springs woman, Delone Blair, was arrested Friday, Feb. 7 5:42 p.m. in the 1900 block of North Carson Street on four felony charges: Embezzlement, furnishing dangerous drugs without a prescription, drug possession with intent to sell and possession of dangerous drugs without a prescription.
According to the arrest report, officers assigned to the Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team were called to a pharmacy in the 1900 block of North Carson Street regarding suspicion of embezzlement by an employment.
Officers learned from store management that Blair had been ordering hydrocordone pills on her shifts since around August, 2013. Store officials said an audit was done and many of pills were missing and believed they were being stolen from Blair, the arrest report states. Hydrocordone is a semi-synthetic opioid derived from codeine.
Store security placed a hidden camera in the pharmacy area and viewed Blair placing a full bottle of hydrocordone pills into her pocket, the report states. The woman was in full view of the camera the entire time and they watched as she left the store with the bottle, the report states.
Store management contacted the woman on Feb. 7 and spoke with her about the incident. The woman told management that she had been taking the prescription medication since approximately August 2013 and that it was as often as 2-3 times per week and 2-3 bottles at a time.
Management had the woman fill out a statement of the incident. In it the woman stated that she believed that during the time she probably took 25,000 tablets at an estimated loss to the store of $14,000.
Carson City Sheriff's Office investigators spoke to the woman who confirmed the story she told store management. The officer asked the woman what she was doing with the pills and she stated that she was having a hard time financially and that she was selling the pills to a person she only knew as "Sonny," the arrest report states.
The woman told officers that she was selling the bottles to "Sonny" for approximately $25 a bottle. Blair said that she had also taken bottles of Alprazolam and Promethazine. She told officers that she believes the total loss to the pharmacy would be $14,614. She was arrested on the four felony charges. Bail: $32,500.
— An 18-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday after allegedly using a small baseball bat to beat a 17-year-old female Carson High School student.
Miette Lopez was arrested at 3:20 p.m. in the 1300 block of Camille Drive.
According to the arrest report, the Carson City Sheriff's Office School Resource officer was contacted by Carson High School administrators and dispatch regarding the incident.
When the officer arrived she found the female juvenile victim with several abrasions on her head, face and neck. The victim advised she was battered by two females, one of them being Lopez, who hit her on the side of the head with solid wood object shaped like a baseball bat but shorter, the arrest report states.
The victim advised that as she was hit by Lopez, the side of her head began to bleed. The officer observed a large cut on the left side of the victim's face, swelling above the left eye and bruising. The victim said she was meeting her cousin after school in Mills Park to walk home together when she was confronted by Lopez. The victim had several problems with Lopez over the past few weeks stemming from a fight the two got into in front of Carson High School, the arrest report states. The two had been told to stay away from each other.
The victim's mother signed a citizen's arrest form for battery with a deadly weapon. Lopez was contacted by deputies at a residence and arrested. Bail: $30,000.
— A 25-year-old Carson City woman, Kelsey Wilkinson, was arrested Sunday on a felony charge of providing false identification and five misdemeanor charges including obstructing an officer and several warrants.
According to the arrest report, officers responded to a fast food restaurant in the 2000 block of East William Street after a report that a customer took the tip jar off the counter and ran with it.
Officers observed a woman fitting the description who turned out to be Wilkinson in front of a casino. The officer asked the woman if she had any identification on her. Wilkinson replied that she had started her period and had blood running down her leg, the arrest report states. The officer advised the woman that he was looking for a female matching her description. The officer again asked for identification.
The woman stated she did not have any identification and that her name was Michelle. The officer then asked her for her full name and she provided a last name with a date of birth and a Social Security number. The officer gave dispatch the information. As he was doing this Wilkinson then took off running. The officer caught her near Long and Russell Way. The officer asked the woman why she ran from police. The woman replied that she thought she had a warrant. The officer then asked her what her real name was and she gave him her correct name, the arrest report states. Bail: $10,931.
— A 24-year-old Carson City man, Joseph Larson, was arrested on suspicion of vehicle burglary Sunday, 8:47 a.m. near Nevada and Proctor street. He was arrested after a witness said he saw Larson inside his neighbor's car near North Iris.
The witness said the driver's door opened and Larson exited. He provided officers a description of the suspect who was found by another deputy near Nevada and Proctor. The man was found to have a pocket full of change, which was determined to be missing from the car, the arrest report states. The witness made a positive identification on the suspect, Larson. Bail: $25,000.
Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
