The City staff drafted an agenda item that would increase sales tax by 1/8 of a cent.
This increase will help to fund various corridor projects; it will also allow the City to build the Animal Shelter, and the Multi-Purpose Athletic Center. The allocated expense of all projects does not include any debt service fees, interest nor any maintenance, service fees, staffing, or other related cost after completion.
There is a possibly some kind of corridor expense that property owners might have to contribute funding towards for the upkeep and maintenance of the sidewalks after they have been expanded.
The two structures (Animal & Multi) will be put out to bid; the corridor projects remains unidentified as to who will oversee their overall construction and how that will be funded.
If you have questions or concerns - I encourage you to attend the town hall meetings where the 1/8 of a cent sale tax increase will be discussed and how all of the projects will be funded through this tax.
January 21 at Fuji Park – 9 am to 11 am / 2 pm to 4 pm
January 29 at Community Center – 6 pm to 8 pm
Please if you would:
1. Attend one of the meetings
2. Let your family, neighbors and friends know about these meetings.
3. Forward your standpoint on: the sale tax increase and what projects are important to you and your family.
