A fully-involved fire destroyed a Gardnerville Ranchos home near Chambers Field in Douglas County on Tuesday night, authorities said. No one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
East Fork Fire and Paramedic District responded to the house fire at 1136 Meadowlark Circle in the Gardnerville Ranchos at 8:45 p.m. The fire inside the 2,800 square-foot ranch-style home was fully involved, meaning that much of the structure was burning at the time firefighters arrived, said Douglas County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Pat Brooks.
Firefighting efforts included six engines, six water tenders, one utility, three rescues, two squads and one truck. The source of the fire is unknown at this time and is currently being investigated by fire inspectors of the East Fork Fire and Paramedic District.
The occupants were not at home at the time of the fire, said Brooks.
