Carson High School student Jody Ostrander has been selected for a Senate Page position in Washington, D.C.
There are 30 Senate Pages selected nationally each session. Jody, 16, will be leaving Carson City later this month and serve until June 6, 2014.
Jody has been active in Carson High School Student Council, she serves as a student representative on the Carson City School District's Strategic Planning Committee, and partnered with Partnership Carson City to create the Youth Influencing Everyday Life Decisions program, also known as YIELD.
Jody is a strong advocate for Veterans and looks for opportunities and projects to give back to Veterans and their families. Jody is looking forward to this opportunity to represent Nevada and appreciates the support the community has given her during the application process.
Jody is the daughter of Chris and Mary Jane Ostrander of Carson City.
