Ticket sales, the art theme for Burning Man 2014 and traffic mitigation plans for the annual Black Rock desert event were announced Wednesday.
Presale registration begins Jan. 16, through Jan. 20, with presale of tickets beginning Jan. 22 and direct group sales Feb. 12. Go here for ticket information.
Organizers have picked "Caravansary" as this year's art theme. According to the Burning Man website:
"For centuries, Silk Route travelers crossed paths in caravansaries, bustling caravan stops offering more than just shelter from the desert wilderness; they were vital centers of cultural exchange, bringing together traders, pilgrims, monks, nomads, traveling entertainers, and wild-eyed adventurers from all points of the compass to share their stories around a common fire."
To address traffic concerns by the Bureau of Land Management and Nevada Department of Transportation, Burning Man organizers say they are expanding existing programs and "launching new ones to encourage participants to rideshare or take alternative transportation."Go here for the programs.
