UPDATE: The structure fire at a Gentry Lane home is now under control, reports Carson City Assistant Fire Chief Tom Tarulli. The fire was situated in the high-peak roof area of the home. The cause has not yet been determined, he said.
Firefighters knocked it down within 30 minutes of the call. Damage to the home is between $80,000 to $100,000, said Battalion Chief John Arneson. The occupants will be displaced until repairs are made. East Fork Fire and Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District were called to provide mutual aid for city coverage while Carson City stations were assigned to the fire.

Carson City firefighters responded Saturday afternoon to a house fire in the 5000 block of Gentry Lane. Several phone calls were reported at around 1:30 p.m. to 911 dispatch reporting smoke coming from a home.

Dispatch has alerted firefighters and Carson City Sheriff's Office personnel that the structure fire is considered a "working fire" which will require manpower and additional resources to bring it under control.
