A Carson City man faces a felony charge of battery with a deadly weapon after allegedly stabbing a man Wednesday following an argument at a North Carson Street motel.
Billy Darrell Harris, 67, is being held in Carson City Jail on $30,000 bail. The victim was stabbed on the left side of his chest and was taken to the hospital. His wound was not life threatening.
According to the arrest report, an officer met with the stabbing victim in the office of a motel in the 800 block of North Carson Street while another deputy cased the ground floor of the motel, keeping watch on the room where Harris was last scene entering.
The victim told the deputy who arrived at the scene: "Billy Harris stabbed me and he is in room #37," the arrest report states.
A Carson City Sheriff's Office sergeant knocked repeatedly on the door of Harris, who eventually opened it, in which he was handcuffed with a struggle and removed from the room, the report states.
The victim was taken to the hospital while deputies spoke with witnesses who said the victim and Harris were "having words" and arguing before the stabbing took place.
One witness, who said she didn't see a weapon but saw the victim wounded, said Harris went back to his room after the incident and laughed at her through the window. Other witnesses also came forward saying they saw the stabbing.
Investigators met up with the victim and took photos of the stab wound to the side of his chest. Four knives were recovered from the suspect's room. The victim said he was stabbed with the knife that had a black handle and a serrated blade.
