Carson Mall will be getting a new Bealls department store to fill part of the space left by the departure of Gottschalks four years ago.
Joanna Holmes, property manager for the Carrington Company that owns the mall, confirmed that Bealls will be occupying 24,268 square feet of the mall, and that demolition work is already underway to ready the space for the new store.
Bealls is owned by Stage Stores, Inc., of Houston, Texas.
Work is already underway for the new Sportsman's Warehouse store announced in August.
Holmes also announced that Francisco's Mexican restaurant of Minden will be opening a new location in the space next to Schat's Bakery. This space was formerly occupied by Paradise Cove Cafe.
