Seats open on Carson City Redevelopment Authority Citizens Committee

The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from persons interested in serving on the Redevelopment Authority Citizens Committee.

There is one opening for “Citizen-at-Large,” one opening for “Business Operator or Property Owner: Redevelopment Area 1” and one opening for “Business Operator or Property Owner: Redevelopment Area 2” the terms shall expire in January 2016.

The Committee’s primary purpose is to make recommendations to the Redevelopment Authority on Redevelopment Area Plans, incentive programs, special event funding, and other matters pertaining to the Redevelopment District. Applicants should be aware that a minimum commitment of up to 10 hours a month is expected. All members will serve without compensation.

Applicants must be Carson City registered voters to qualify. Any qualified applicant may apply for the Citizen-at-Large vacancy. Any qualified applicants who are either business owners, business operators, or property owners within Redevelopment Areas 1 or 2 should note on their application which of these categories they qualify for and in which Redevelopment area their business or property is located.

Volunteer applications may be obtained from and returned to the Carson City Executive Offices, 201 N. Carson Street #2. Let it be known that all applications submitted to this office will be considered public information.

Applications will be accepted until this position is filled. Interviews for the volunteer position will be scheduled for the first available Board of Supervisors meeting upon receipt of qualified applications. The Board of Supervisors regularly meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month.
