Layers of ice remaining on some of Carson City's side streets and walkways will see more snow added to them by Wednesday night and Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
Carson City could get anywhere from 1 to 3 inches of snow when another cold front approaching from the north will drop temperatures and flakes overnight Wednesday into early Thursday morning.
A few inches of snow are possible in the Sierra, but the main impacts of this system will be in Carson City, Douglas County along the Highway 395 corridor and Reno during the morning commute. The good news is the wind ahead of the cold front will break the surface temperature inversion and allow the pollution to clear out of western Nevada, according to the weather service.
On Wednesday expect partly sunny skies with a high near 51. The snow is expected to begin after 10 p.m. and last through about 10 a.m. Thursday.
