A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Dec. 14, 7:38 p.m. in the 1500 block of Rand Avenue. Bruce Tapia faces a felony charge of domestic battery. According to the arrest report, officers responded to the 200 block of Carson Meadows Drive on a report of a domestic battery in progress.
Carson City sheriff's office dispatched advised a Tapia had thrown a beer bottle at a woman and was advised he was leaving the residence, the arrest report states.
The woman told officers that Tapia had come over to the residence where he slapped her on the left side of her head, striking her left ear and cheek, the report states.
Officers located the man's vehicle in the driveway of 1500 Rand. The officer knocked on the door and asked to speak with Tapia. He was on the sofa and was identified by his tattoos. He was arrested and booked into custody.
Tapia has had three or more domestic battery convictions, which constitutes the felony charge. He provided a preliminary breath test where he blew a .115, the arrest report states. Bail: $17,775.
